Records for 19 cemeteries and two crematoria in
Wakefield Council area now online

• Deceased Online has added nearly 230,000 burial and cremation records for the West Yorkshire area of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council
• The Wakefield area is large and covers such notable towns as Castleford, Featherstone, Knottingley and Pontefract as well as Wakefield City
• The earliest records are from 1857 and feature 19 cemeteries and two crematoria
• Currently, the data comprises scans of registers for approximately 75% of records; more data will be added soon including cemetery section maps and grave details

Wakefield Metropolitan District Council covers a large area in West Yorkshire and features many well known towns as well as Wakefield City.
