Historic Norwich is the county town of Norfolk in the East of England and, until the Industrial Revolution, was the second largest city in England, and one of the most important. Norwich boasts two universities and two cathedrals, and much of the original medieval city still exists with cobbled streets and half timbered buildings. The city is historically known for the manufacture of shoes, clothing, joinery, aircraft design, and chocolates, and today is rich in culture with many museums, theatres, and galleries.
