Accessibilty
This accessibility statement applies to www.deceasedonline.com, which is owned and run by Deceased Online Ltd, and was last updated in May 2021. We've made our website as accessible as possible, meaning that you can:
- Navigate the website using only a keyboard.
- Navigate articles and other text-based content with speech recognition software or a screen reader.
- Enlarge text or apply custom zoom levels (e.g. 200%) to pages without losing functionality.
- Navigate the website on multiple devices including tablets and mobile phones.
This website is, for the most part, compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (AA). However, there are parts of the site are not fully accessible. For example, the 'Advanced Viewer' controls for viewing Burial and Cremation images are not accessible via Keyboard. However, the 'Basic Viewer' is accessible via keyboard and will respond to standard keyboard controls (e.g. zooming with CTRL and plus/minus keys and panning with arrow keys).
Other accessibility improvements include the following:
- Updates to improve responsive-design.
- Enhancements to keyboard navigation (including addition of 'Skip to Content' link).
- Increased contrast-ratio of colours used in text and interface elements across the whole site.
- Improved semantic markup to ensure screen-readers and other third-party tools work as intended.
- Updates to links and existing articles to improve legibility.
